Brief

Develop a new global brand to represent a range of innovative new charcoal and gas BBQs designed and developed in collaboration between Australian manufacturer Everdure, and renowned culinary magician, Heston Blumenthal.

 

Solution

Heston Blumenthal’s family crest, ‘Question Everything’, formed the basis of the new brand strategy, this ethos of innovation intersecting with the primitive cues of charcoal cooking methods.  

The product’s distinctive and minimal design set the visual brand DNA. We interpreted this design palette into a clean brand identity that stands apart in a category rife with masculinity and design excess. The vents on the product inspired a distinct pattern language, tilted to evoke the grill marks on a beautifully cooked steak. Smokey, moody photography is inspired by charcoal cooking, and contrasting pops of colour reflect the product design and aid in retail communications.

Born & Raised worked with Shriro and global partners to develop all launch campaign and global trade event collateral, including a bank of video and photographic content.
